Prof. Dr. Márcia Foster Mesko

Dr. Mesko is a full professor at the Federal University of Pelotas, an affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Science, and a titular member of the Brazilian Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences. She was the Director of the Analytical Chemistry Division of the Brazilian Chemical Society.

She is an editorial board member of the Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry and of the Brazilian Journal of Analytical Chemistry.

She has presented national and international invited lectures and published more than 130 peer-reviewed international papers, patents, and book chapters in these fields. She received national and international awards, such as “For Women in Science 2012”, awarded from L’Oréal – UNESCO and Brazilian Academy of Science, “2018 JAAS Emerging Investigator Lectureship” awarded from Royal Society of Chemistry, and “IUPAC Distinguished Women in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering” awarded from IUPAC in 2023.

She has experience in the development of methods for food, pharmaceutical, and biological analysis using ion chromatography and atomic spectrometry techniques.
