Join an international science hackathon and help drive innovation in functional food!

We are pleased to invite you to the PATHFOOD Science Hackathon, hosted by the University of Warsaw as part of the HORIZON Europe PATHFOOD project. The event will take place on 13–14 October 2025, in a hybrid format – both in Warsaw and online.

 

Over the course of 36 hours, participants will work in diverse international teams to tackle real scientific challenges with the support of experienced mentors and experts from research and industry.

Hackathon topics (selected by teams). The following topics are illustrative and indicative examples only – the final topics will be announced at the beginning of the hackaton. The topics will focus on food products with health properties.

  1. Develop a marketing and branding strategy for selenium-enriched cabbage juice
  2. Identify key consumer segments for selenium-enriched functional foods
  3. Explore sustainable production methods for selenium-enriched cabbage juice
  4. Design and conduct a survey, analyze consumer attitudes
  5. Create science communication tools and outreach strategies
  6. And more – proposed by partners or developed by the teams

Who can join?

The hackathon is open to students, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers from PATHFOOD partner institutions.

To ensure team diversity and avoid pre-formed groups, participants must register individually. Participation is free, but spots are limited.
