Warsaw Genomics Genetic Analysis Laboratory

Description of the Group

The team is made of doctors and scientists whose main mission is to develop and deliver highly sensitive and accurate evidence-based genetic tests. Applying cutting-edge genetic analysis tools and our proprietary algorithms, we search for genetic errors, responsible for human diseases.

Research Activities

Research interest:

  • Comprehensive genetic diagnostics of thrombotic microangiopathies
  • Validation of the available serological tests and determination of the level of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies within 1,3,9 and 12 months from the onset of COVID-19
  • Work related to the development, testing and improvement of products and services to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unique research equipment:

  • Hiseq 4000, Ilumina
  • Biomek i5, i7, Beckman Coulter
  • MiniSeq, Ilumina

Research services:

  • Genetic tests

Team Leader

Prof. Krystian Jażdżewski, MD, PhD– medical doctor, endocrinologist, oncogeneticist, currently conducting specialization in clinical genetics. He is devoting all his efforts to make genetic testing available for every Polish citizen. His interests are particularly focused on testing for hereditary cancer, allowing for early prevention and treatment of the disease.  He’s been conducting research on the genetics of human diseases and the use of genomic sequencing in medicine. He worked for 10 years in the USA, in one of the world best cancer inheritance research teams. During that time, Krystian discovered a gene responsible for thyroid cancer inheritance. His publication was reviewed in Faculty 1000 Medicine and ranked among the best 4% of reports. Krystian came back to Poland with the intention to use his experience to promote genetic testing for hereditary cancers.
