Laboratory of Biochemical Applications of SERS Spectroscopy

Description of the Group:

The main research interest of the group is the use of SERS spectroscopy for selected medical applications, for example, for detection of DNA fragments with a given sequence. It is also synthesis of various types of plasmonic nanostructures.

Team Leader:

Prof. Kudelski is co-author of over 150 scientific publications and 6 patents. Principal investigator in numerous research grants. Two research internships of over one year at the Fritz-Haber Institute of the Max Plank Society.

Main Achievement:

Development of a new method for detecting DNA fragments with a given sequence by observing, using SERS spectroscopy, changes in the structure of the layer through which the capture DNA chains are attached to the SERS substrate, generated by the selective hybridization of DNA chains.
