International Scientific Cooperation: Prof. Fabio Duarte Visits CNBCh

The Biological and Chemical Research Centre (CNBCh) hosted Prof. Fabio Andrei Duarte from Brazil for a week. During his visit, Prof. Duarte familiarized himself with the research infrastructure at CNBCh UW, including the work of the  Analytical Expert Centre (ACE) and the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Archaeometric Research. He also visited the Main Campus of the University of Warsaw.

 

Prof. Fabio Duarte is a renowned Brazilian scientist specializing in analytical chemistry. Since 2009, he has been working at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), where he currently holds the position of professor and is responsible for coordinating postgraduate studies in chemistry. Previously, he worked at the Federal University of Rio Grande, where he held various administrative positions. His research focuses on sample preparation and analysis of solid samples using chromatographic and spectrometric techniques.

Prof. Duarte is the author of over 130 scientific articles, 10 book chapters, and 5 patents. He has led many research projects funded by Brazilian government institutions. The professor’s visit is an excellent opportunity for mutual exchange of knowledge and experience between our unit and the Federal University of Santa Maria in Brazil.
