Visit of representatives of the United States Embassy at CNBCh UW

On June 2nd of this year, we had the honor of hosting a delegation from the Embassy of the United States in Poland at the University of Warsaw Biological and Chemical Research Centre of the University of Warsaw. The meeting provided an opportunity to present the research potential of the University of Warsaw and to discuss possibilities for cooperation in the areas of science, education, and innovation.

The U.S. Embassy delegation was represented by:

• Brad Vick – Deputy Cultural Attaché, Public Engagement Officer;
• Marzena Polak – STEM Outreach and Engagement Officer;
• Justyna Trafford – Youth Engagement and Exchanges Officer;
• Małgorzata Dzielak – Entrepreneurship and Innovation Officer.

The meeting was organized at the initiative of Prof. Krzysztof Woźniak, Prof. Paweł Majewski, and Prof. Jarosław Majewski.

The guests were welcomed by Mr. Konrad Zawadzki, Deputy Director of CNBCh UW, who presented the potential of the research units operating on the Ochota Campus of the University of Warsaw and emphasized the role of CNBCh UW as a modern infrastructure supporting interdisciplinary research. He also highlighted the unique potential resulting from the proximity of scientific units across the campus, which fosters cooperation and integration within the research community.

Prof. Jarosław Majewski—a retired professor and director at the National Science Foundation—spoke about the purpose of the meeting, underlining the importance of international collaboration in developing innovative research projects and supporting young scientists.

A key point of the program was the address by the Vice-Rector for Research at the University of Warsaw, Prof. Zygmunt Lalak, who presented the structure, scale, and international potential of the University of Warsaw. He drew attention to the university’s growing involvement in international projects, including Polish-American scientific and educational initiatives.

Next, selected scientific units of the Ochota Campus and their research profiles were presented.
