We are interested in plant ecology: invasions, adaptations to harsh environmental conditions, genetic differentiation of populations, plant populations on environmental islands, interactions between plants and pollinators.
THE LEADER OF THE GROUP:

Our research interests include Poa annua as an invasive species in the Antarctic, plant succession in front of retreating glaciers in the Antarctic oases, kurgans as environmental islands and refugia of steppe vegetation in Ukraine, functioning of forest-bound plants in isolated urban forests. In our research we use various field (vegetation listing, field experiments) and laboratory methods (genotyping of individuals). We collaborate with the Department of Antarctic Biology (Polish Academy of Science).
