DESCRIPTION OF THE GROUP
Research Group of Evolutionary Geochronology represents the Department of Paleobiology and Evolution at the Faculty of Biology.
Group members carry out research on the evolution of different groups of organisms, partly on the basis of fossil materials, and partly using experimental data for comparison of physiology and anatomy with modern specimens of the studied groups.

This group’s research focuses on the evolution of the biological clock of arthropods, the origin and evolution of lizards, properties of fossil record of evolution, early differentiation of types in the animal kingdom.
Our department is equipped with mineralogical electromagnetic separator, critical point drier for preparation of scanning microscopy samples, line for heavy liquid mineralogical separation (sodium polytungstate).
Instruments used by the group (especially critical point drier) are available for fellow researchers from other scientific institutions. There is also a possibility of performing commissioned tasks.
