DESCRIPTION OF THE GROUP

The following belong to our fields of interest :

  • HPLC/MS and GC/MS analyses of the composition of secondary organic aerosols formed in continuous flow reactor, constructed by group members
  • GC/MS identification of organic compounds (proteins, drying oils, waxes and resins) in the painting media;
  • HPLC/MS identification of natural pigments (flavonoids, anthraquinones, gallic acid and its derivatives) in historical textiles.

Research of the group members focuses on atmospheric chemistry, chemical kinetics, analysis of organic compounds by use of capillary gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry, and high performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

There is considerable research performed in the laboratory of the Chemistry of the Atmosphere Research Group, either in the framework of expert opinions, or interuniversity cooperation, regarding GC/MS and LC/MS identification of organic compounds (i.a. in painting media) in samples of different works of art, GC/MS identification of contamination in cigarette rolling paper, GC/MS and LC/MS product identification of stabilizer synthesis, LC/MS analysis of protein content in samples of latex used in manufacturing gloves. The prices of analyses depend on the analysis type, number of analytes etc.
