On Sunday, 7th of July, The International Summer School Euromaster “Metrology Science in Chemisty” (MSC) has begun. It is devoted to the issues of analytical chemistry, metrology and accreditation. The summer school program was developed by the International Euromaster MSC consortium, under the patronage of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). This year, for the twelfth time, students, doctoral students and academic teachers managed to gather together for two weeks, participate in workshops and carry out projects. This year’s edition takes place in Lyon, France with the support of Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1.
One of the organizers of the event is the University of Warsaw, represented by Professor Ewa Bulska, Director of the University of Warsaw Biological and Chemical Research Centre and Mr Andrzej Gawor – Quality Assistant, responsible for maintaining the quality system in accredited laboratories at the University of Warsaw. Participants are PhD students of the TRI-BIO-CHEM study program from the Theoretical Fundamentals of Analytical Chemistry of the University of Warsaw (Prof. Ewa Bulska): Marta Bicka and Adam Karpiński, MA and chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw (Prof. Paweł Kulesza) ): Paulina Krakówka and Kamil Czarniecki.
Participants of this year’s school come from 21 different countries from 4 continents of the world. A two-week joint stay in Lyon (France) is an opportunity to exchange experiences between laboratory employees, PhD students and graduate students who want to expand their knowledge in the field of chemical metrology, validation of analytical procedures and accreditation.
More information of this year’s edition will be coming soon.
