Bath with peeling in the lake – why not! Microplastics are waiting for you…

As a part of the INTERRREG Baltic Sea Region Lakes connect project, educational classes were held in the secondary school – Liceum Chocimska in Warsaw.

The topic was an introduction to the main problems related to the protection of lakes, including pollution with plastic microparticles. The outline of the creation of plastics, the scale of their production since the invention, as well as the fate in the environment were presented. The importance of the “Lakes connect” project was presented in the context of international cooperation in the transnational problem of microplastic pollution of aquatic environments.

Further educational activities are also planned.
